Our CV-P Vortex meter employs the use of Piezoelectric crystals as sensors, mounted in the upper portion of the shedder bar out of the flow stream.
Application: Natural Gas
Cadillac® Vortex Meters: Designed for Natural Gas Flow Measurement
The vortex meter operates on the principle that when a flow hits an obstruction, it swirls separate from the object on alternating sides at the point where the flow contacts the object. These meters can be used in any number of industries to measure the volume flow of liquids, gases and steam (e.g. chemicals, petrochemicals, power generation).
Vortex meters are very suitable for measuring compressible fluids (gases). With no moving parts and a linear relationship with flow, vortex technology provides a very reliable and accurate measuring solution for compressible mediums.
We offer three variations of vortex meters, all suitable for gas flow measurement:
Cadillac® Vortex CV-U Meter
Our CV-U Vortex meter employs the use of Ultrasonic sensing technology, which mount just downstream of the shedder bar assembly and provide high sensitivity on the lower end of the operating range, extending the meter’s ability to measure at much lower flow rates than other sensing technologies.
